| Trường hợp nhiễm HIV đầu tiên được phát hiện vào tháng 12 năm 1990. Đến cuối tháng 6 năm 2007 ở Việt Nam đã phát hiện 128.367 trường hợp nhiễm HIV/AIDS ở tất cả 64 tỉnh thành, trong đó có 25.219 trường hợp tiến triển sang AIDS và 14.052 trường hợp tử vong do AIDS. Tại Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, đã có 36.942 trường hợp nhiễm HIV được phát hiện trên toàn thành phố từ đầu dịch, có 18.026 người chuyển sang AIDS và 6.783 bệnh nhân đã tử vong. |  |
